When your new account is first created, the default display mode is to show the oldest post first.

The mode is called "Ascending"

To change to "Descending" mode, go to your User Control Panel (under your logged in name)

Look for the tab: Board Preferences

In Board Preferences, look for Edit Display Options

Look for: Display post order direction:

You have choices of Ascending or Descending.
