For SpaceNut ... if you like the Housekeeping topic for our conversations, please see if you can find a good place for it. In the Communications subforum would seem like a good place, but you may prefer somewhere else.
I ** just ** came out of a good conversation with Gemini about the slow response of our system. I only entered half the IP addresses that Cloudflare needs. It is entirely possible it went to ones I did not enter, and kept trying until it found an IP address that works. Tomorrow I'll enter the rest of them.

Re: SpaceNut Postings
For SpaceNut re conversation with RobertDyck ...
Thanks for joining that conversation! I suspect that Mr. Burk is tied up planning for the upcoming Convention!
When you want someone to reply in a different topic, please consider creating a link to take them directly to the place you have in mind.
I don't know if this will work but I'm going to try it:
Here is a link to the present post: Oh! I can't do what I was hoping for. The URL is to the reply, and that is only temporary.
I'll try saving this to see if I can pick up a URL that way.
OK ... this appears to be the URL... viewtopic.php?p=426#p426
I had to post the reply, pull the ID from the address bar, and then edit the post to deliver the URL.
That's a little bit more work, but doable.

Re: SpaceNut Postings
RobertDyck did ask the quest and I replied in the other part of the forum as to how soon the old forum might be up and all I could indicate is that James is on it.

Re: SpaceNut Postings
For SpaceNut ... thanks for adding a post !!! The direct connection seems as fast as ever.
I ran some tests with a PC that has never seen newmars before, and the time for each cycle with new-mars.org was about 18 seconds. Occasionally it would stretch to 20 seconds. I did notice that the browser tries to use the direct connection but since the IP address has not been entered into Azure the connection fails.
Please keep trying the new-mars.org connection when you have time. It should eventually work with the 20 seconds per cycle speed.
We can offer direct connection to our members who are persistent enough to succeed with the ultra-secure connection. The advantage of the ultra-secure connection is the access can be from anywhere. The downside is the extra time that all that security apparatus adds.
In addition to the slow response, our members have to put up with the new forum structure. The most useful command is Active. That is how I knew that you had logged in.
You were working on the 40 ton lander. That might be opened as a project here. Your version is different from GW's version, so they each need their own topic.

Re: SpaceNut Postings
For SpaceNut re Successful Post!
I just realized this forum software does not show the post number the way the old one did.
Hopefully RobertDyck and kbd512. will join soon.
I'll return to working on the new web site shortly.
Thanks for working your way through the challenges.
